WHO WE ARE
We are the Forum for Agriculture, Innovation, and Empowerment of Children and Youths - Sierra Leone (FAIECY-SL) a youth-led organization committed to driving positive change in sustainable agriculture and responsible environmental practices.
FAIECY-SL was founded on February 13, 2021 as a youth-led organization dedicated to transforming local farming communities through the promotion of climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and environmental protections. We aim to promote sustainable farming methods that cannot only enhance food sufficiency but also contribute to a safer and healthier environment.
WHAT WE DO

1. Climate-Smart Agriculture: We train farmers and communities in climate-smart practices that reduce crop losses, improve soil health, and strengthen resilience against extreme weather. These methods ensure food security while protecting local ecosystems.

2. Renewable Energy: We accelerate Sierra Leone’s shift from diesel dependence to clean, affordable energy by piloting community-scale solar projects, supporting renewable infrastructure, and building youth skills in sustainable technologies. Through collaboration with government institutions, civil society, and local leaders, we work to expand access to reliable green energy that powers local communities.

3. Environmental Conservation: We tackle waste challenges in rural and urban communities by promoting recycling, safe disposal, and community-driven waste management initiatives. By reducing pollution and turning waste into resources, we protect public health, restore the environment, and foster cleaner, more sustainable living spaces.

4. Climate Education: We inspire innovation by supporting school and out-of-school youth with opportunities to design and test solutions to climate challenges. From grassroots technologies to digital learning, we cultivate the next generation of leaders driving adaptation, mitigation, and resilience.
